Automobiles line up at the Jackson Car Show held April 6.

In addition to the display of the numerous cars of various makes, models, colors and ages, there were arts and craft vendors and food vendors on-site. The event was held at 3312 College St., down the hill on the former football field behind the Old Hickory Railroad Train Museum.

Some visitors enjoyed the model trains which were also running inside and outside from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. the day of the car show.

A small but popular vehicle with children at the car show was Freddy the Firetruck on loan from the West Feliciana Parish Fire Department.

Another treat for the children at the car show was seeing and interacting with Freddy the Fire Truck, which was made possible by the West Feliciana Parish Fire Department. The small red vehicle blinked his eyes, flashed his lights and moved around the grassy field with the help of a Jackson Volunteer Fire Department fireman with a remote control.

Live music was provided by Corban Barnes and Bob Browning and the Southland Band.

Trophies were presented in front of the stage for the winners in the many different categories at the conclusion of the event. The trophies were designed by Joey Belk, “The Trophy Professor” of Zachary, for the second year. Each was made from engine parts and is one-of-a-kind.
