For the second straight year, LSU golfer Aine Donegan has earned a spot in the U.S. Women’s Open.

Donegan won a qualifying event completed Tuesday in Rockwall, Texas, to secure a return trip to the U.S. Women’s Open, May 30-June 2 at Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The Republic of Ireland native shot rounds of 68-67 to finish at 9-under par 135.

Donegan joins LSU teammates Ingrid Lindblad and Latanna Stone in the field, along with former LSU golfer Madelene Sagstrom. Lindblad qualified as the world’s No. 1 women’s amateur, while Stone earned an exemption by reaching the final of last year’s U.S. Women’s Amateur.

The LSU women’s golf team returns to action May 6 in the NCAA Bryan (Texas) regional at the Traditions Club.
