For a limited time, girls and adults interested in Girl Scouts Louisiana East can join for $35 and receive membership for 18 months through September 2025. Register as a Girl Scout at www.gsle.org/join.
“Girl Scouting is for every girl in every community,” said Rebecca Pennington, CEO of Girl Scouts Louisiana East. “During our annual spring campaign, we are proud to offer this opportunity for those new to Girl Scouting to get the most out of their membership, especially younger girls who continue to acclimate to changes in their lives beginning school.”
Girl Scouts’ mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. By joining Girl Scouts, girls are exposed to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, allowing them to discover themselves, connect with others around them and take action to build the world they want to see. Girl Scout programming focuses on the Four Pillars of Girl Scouting: STEM, Outdoors, Life Skills and Entrepreneurship.
Additionally, GSUSA has launched a new tool to get leaders started called the Girl Scout Experience Box, a complimentary, free monthly supply box for new Daisy (K-1) troop leaders. These boxes will help new troop leaders lead troop meetings, create connections within their troops and build confidence in their own leadership skills. These boxes will also support kindergarten readiness standards that prepare students for school while getting them acclimated to their new troop.
Information about the Girl Scout Experience Box can be found at www.gsle.org/en/members/for-volunteers/experience-box.html.
