The field for the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans will feature nine of the top 30 players in the world, including No. 2 Rory McIlroy and No. 3 Xander Schauffele.
The final field, released Friday afternoon by tournament officials, features five of the world's top 15 players and six of the top 17.
In addition to McIlroy and Schauffele, top players scheduled to participate are Patrick Cantlay (No. 8), Matt Fitzpatrick (No. 12), Collin Morikawa (No. 13) and Sahith Theegala (No. 17).
Wyndham Clark, the world's No. 5-ranked player and the reigning U.S. Open champion, was a last-minute withdrawal, tournament officials said.
Clark and teammate Beau Hossler finished third a year ago. They entered the final round with a one-shot lead after firing a 10-under 62 in the best-ball format. Hossler instead will play this week with PGA Tour veteran Sam Ryder.
Nick Hardy and Davis Riley posted a final-round 7-under 65 in alternate shot on Sunday to overtake Clark and Hossler for their first PGA Tour wins last April.
Hardy and Riley, a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, are back to defend their title. They had a tournament-record score of 30-under 258 to defeat Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin by two strokes and Clark-Hossler by three.
Taylor and Hadwin are also returning this week for a shot at the tournament-record $8.9 million purse.
This year's event tees off Thursday at the TPC Louisiana layout in Avondale. In addition to the $8.9 million in prize money, of which $2,572,100 goes to the winning team ($1,286,050 each), they split 400 FedExCup points.
Teams will play a four-ball or best-ball format in the first and third rounds Thursday and Saturday. The format for the second and final rounds Friday and Sunday will be alternate shot.
