Slaughter Elementary School was one of six schools statewide recognized with the 2024 Louisiana School Physical Activity Award.
This award is presented by the Louisiana Department of Education to celebrate schools with exemplary comprehensive school physical activity programs.
Principal Jennifer Jacox Thornton and assistant principal Traci Hebert received a certificate from the East Feliciana Parish School Board in recognition of the honor at the board's monthly meeting on April 9.
