A teenager died during surgery after being injured in a shooting on Bartlett Street on Saturday, Baton Rouge police said.
Kendrick Jarmon, 18, was walking in the 3200 block of Bartlett Street around 6:15 p.m. Saturday when he was shot multiple times by an unknown male, police said. Jarmon fled toward a nearby backyard where he collapsed.
Jarmon was taken to a hospital and died Sunday from his injuries.
A suspect and motive are currently unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
