THIBODAUX — Four Nicholls State batters had two hits apiece and nine pitchers each took a one-inning turn on the mound as the Colonels outslugged Southern 12-4 on Tuesday night at Ray Didier Field.
Drake Anderson was 2 for 3 with a run, two walks and three RBIs for Nicholls (28-16), which got to play the game at home when the teams agreed to move Tuesday's matchup away from waterlogged Lee-Hines Field.
Southern took a 3-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning when Michael Latulas hit an RBI double to right field and the Jaguars added two unearned runs with two outs. The Colonels rallied for two runs in the fourth, three in the fifth, four in the seventh and three more in the eighth.
Arturo Rodriguez (2-2) was credited with the win. He threw a scoreless fifth inning.
Peyton Huff (0-1) gave up three runs in the fifth for Southern.
