BRASILIA, Brazil — Former LSU beach volleyball players Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth won the silver medal Sunday in the Brasilia Elite 16 tournament as they continue their preparations to represent the United States in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Nuss and Kloth, ranked No. 2 in the world, won six matches before falling in the gold medal match to the world No. 1 duo of Eduarda “Duda” Lisboa and Ana Patricia Ramos 21-17, 21-14.
“We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to compete against some of the best athletes in the world," said Nuss, a native of New Orleans (Kloth is from Sioux Falls, South Dakota). "Winning the silver medal at the Brasilia Elite 16 is a testament to the countless hours of training and dedication that we put into our craft.”
The beach volleyball competition in the Paris Olympics begins July 27, a day after the opening ceremony.
