Zachary residents can use a new tool to get flood risk data and see elevation certificates for free.
The Flood Fact Finder is powered by Forerunner, a floodplain management platform. It is available at zacharyla.withforerunner.com/properties.
Bryant Dixon, planning and zoning director, demonstrated the tool during an April City Council meeting.
By typing a Zachary address into the Flood Fact Finder, people can see whether a property is located in a flood zone or floodway, its base flood elevation and links to additional documents. They also can view elevation certificates, which offer detailed information on a property’s flood risk.
The tool also will help city leaders analyze data and respond to flooding issues.
“We as a city are focused on developing our community in a way that creates long-term resilience for our residents and businesses and easy access to critical information like elevation certificates and personalized flood risk data,” Dixon said. “Forerunner’s platform plays a crucial role in our city’s floodplain management activities, providing real-time flood data during storms and facilitating efficient damage claims submission.”
