Crime scene

The 14-year-old boy arrested for killing a 46-year-old man Monday is the victim's nephew, police said.

The teen shot Sherderick Jones, 46, during an argument, police said. Jones died from his injuries shortly after being taken to a local hospital.

A spokesperson for the Baton Rouge Police Department said the argument is believed to be a domestic dispute, as Jones was the suspect's uncle.

Authorities are still investigating how the juvenile got the gun used to kill his uncle, the spokesman said.

The suspect was arrested when police arrived at the scene on Clayton Street Monday afternoon.

This is a developing story.
