The NCAA gymnastics championships begin Thursday in Fort Worth, Texas with two national semifinals. LSU competes in Session I at 3:30 p.m. along with California, Arkansas and Stanford, with Session II (Oklahoma, Florida, Alabama, Utah) at 8 p.m. The top two teams from each semifinal advance to Saturday’s final, with NCAA individual titles also being decided Thursday. Both sessions are on ESPN2.

Here are five gymnasts to watch in Thursday’s competition:

HALEIGH BRYANT, Senior, LSU

Ranked No. 1 nationally in all-around and on vault. Won SEC all-around, vault titles, 2021 NCAA vault crown. Had two perfect 10s in NCAA regional.

JORDAN BOWERS, Junior, Oklahoma

The nation’s No. 2 all-arounder behind Bryant, Bowers leads a powerful Sooners squad ranking No. 1 nationally on uneven bars. Has six perfect 10s this season.

JADE CAREY, Junior, Oregon State

A 2020 U.S. Olympian, Carey will compete unattached for the all-around title. Has two 10s this season on floor, including one against LSU in Fayetteville regional.

EMJAE FRAZIER, Sophomore, California

The nation’s third-ranked all-arounder, Frazier was named WCGA West region gymnast of the year. Had perfect 10s this season on uneven bars and floor.

SELENA HARRIS, Sophomore, UCLA

If LSU’s Konnor McClain posts a beam score to beat, Harris may match it. The nation’s No. 5 all-arounder tied first on beam in NCAA Berkeley regional.
