Baton Rouge Blues Festival forced indoors for first time, but patrons still enjoy the show _lowres

Clockwise from left, French Onion Waffle Sandwich, Shrimp Bread Pudding, Waffle Beignet Bites and The Cochon Waffle Sandwich are ready for sampling at a past Baton Rouge Blues Festival.

Blues music can make you hungry — who knew?

But not to worry, there will be 16 food vendors at this weekend's Baton Rouge Blues Festival offering some scrumptious options, from savory tacos and crawfish etouffee to sweet sno-balls and pralines.

In between watching Marty Christian & the Rue Boogaloo Band on Saturday and Carolyn Wonderland on Sunday, stroll the perimeter of Galvez Plaza (blues central) to satisfy those hunger pangs. Cajun to Caribbean, soul to seafood, take your pick at the following:

  • Bohemia: Hot dogs and seasoned crackers
  • Rio Tacos and Tequila: Tamales, tacos, empanadas
  • S&J: BBQ ribs, crawfish po-boy, shrimp po-boy, fried catfish, potato salad, baked beans, french fries
  • Those Sugar Mamas: Macarons, sno-balls
  • Chet's Grill: Cajun fare, Philly cheesesteak
  • Carr's Pralines: Need we say more?
  • JukJoint: Chargrilled oysters, specialty drinks
  • Caribbean Express: Burgers, tacos, quesadillas, nachos
  • C'est Bon Manger Food Truck: Stuffed burgers, shrimp po-boys and more
  • Finna-Eat: Home-cooked Louisiana fare
  • Leroy's Lipsmackin' Lemonade: Our cooling-off recommendation
  • Touch of Cajun: Crab cakes, sausage po-boys, etc.
  • Andersons' Gourmet: Burgers, chicken
  • Desiree's Soul Food
  • Phat Mama's Kajun Kitchen: Gourmet potatoes
