UL sprinter Jamhad Booth earns Sun Belt Track Athlete of the Week.

A season of progress for UL’s track and field squad continued this week with two more Ragin’ Cajuns being recognized.

UL’s senior sprinter Jamhad Booth took over the Sun Belt’s top spot in the 100 with a time of 10.20 at the Warhawk Relays, giving him the second best time in program history.

On the girls side, senior sprinter Mari Robinson also showed off his speed with wins in the 100 with a time of 11.42 and the 200 with a 23.36 showing in the Warhawk Invitational to earn Sun Belt Track Athlete of the Week recognition.

Her times were the second best in the Sun Belt this season in both events. Also, the 100 time is the fourth best in school history and the 200 time the third best in program history.

Booth is now the second Track Athlete of the Week winner out of seven weeks this spring, joining Javed Jones in Week 4. Robinson is the second UL athlete to win Track Athlete of the Week – joining Moseiha Bridgen in Week 4 – and Marin Barras was the Field Athlete of the Week in Week 4 as well.
