Three Copper Mill Elementary School students swept the elementary category of the Louisiana Art Education Association's Youth Art Month Flag Design competition.

Alyei Guy won first place, Wesley George placed second, and Arya Selvaraj won third. This year's theme was “Dream in Art,” and the students were to creatively use images representing their state.

They are taught by Copper Mill Elementary art teacher Darryl Alello, who is a member of the LAEA.

The winners were honored at the Youth Art Month Recognition Ceremony April 15 at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge.
