Parts of Louisiana may experience severe weather Friday, including the possibility of flash flooding and hail, according to National Weather Service forecasters.
The rain held back during the long-awaited Rolling Stones concert at the 2024 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, but that may not be the case when Hozier, Foo Fighters and other local music groups take the stage as part of the May 3 performances.
Excessive rain could lead to flooded streets in Baton Rouge and other parts of southeast Louisiana. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to hit Lafayette.
North Louisiana towns near Shreveport — including Bernice, Summerfield and Spearsville — are at threat of winds up to 40 mph and pea-sized hail. Forecasters predict showers and thunderstorms in Shreveport.

New Orleans
Showers and thunderstorms are possible after 1 p.m. as cloudy skies hover over the city throughout the day Friday. The high will be near 82 degrees.
There is a slight chance of showers between 7-9 p.m. The low will be around 72 degrees.
Baton Rouge
There is a slight chance of flash flooding, with 2 to 3 inches of rainfall per hour possible. Showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day and into the evening. It will be mostly cloudy with a high near 80 degrees.
There is a 20% of showers after 9 p.m. The low will dip to around 69 degrees.
Lafayette
Forecasters predict showers and possibly a thunderstorm throughout the day. Wind gusts may reach up to 20 mph. The high will be near 80 degrees.
There is a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m. Night skies will be mostly cloudy, with lows around 70 degrees.
Shreveport
Shreveport will likely get hit with a series of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. There will be mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 79 degrees.
There is a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 p.m. Overnight lows will drop to around 65 degrees.
