The Chicago Sky will have their second preseason game streamed live after fans were relegated to watching former LSU star Angel Reese in a social media stream provided by a fan who was at the WNBA preseason contest Friday night.
Tuesday night's second and final preseason game for the Sky against the New York Liberty will now be streamed live on the WNBA League Pass at 7 p.m.
The preseason opener between the Sky and the Minnesota Lynx was originally announced as a game that would be live streamed, but it didn't happen. A Lynx fan in the arena began to stream the game on X, attracting about 434,000 viewers to her feed. Reese scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the game, which the Lynx won 92-81.
Fans and Sky players both complained about the lack of a video broadcast of the preseason opener, and it's clear that the WNBA has heard their complaints.
WNBA League Pass is available through a subscription with rates set at $12.99 a month or $34.99 a year.
The Sky's regular season begins on May 15 with a game in Arlington, Texas, against the Dallas Wings.
