Hammond area residents can drop off household waste during May 4 event

The annual Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Collection Day is set for 8 a.m. May 4 at Zemurray Park, 406 S. Oak St., Hammond.

Until noon, residents can drop off lamps and bulbs, batteries, computers, electronics, TVs, tires, paints, antifreeze, cooking oil and bleach.

All hazardous materials must be labeled and in the original container.
