Everywhere else, it's just Tuesday.

But in New Orleans, Feb. 13, 2024 marks one of the most important days of the year — Fat Tuesday.

Mardi Gras Day, however, is actually the last day Carnival celebrations in the Crescent City. New Orleans has been reveling in purple, green and gold since Jan.6, or Twelfth Night.

Parades have rolled. Throws have been caught. King cake has been eaten. And who knows how many hand grenades and hurricanes have been sold in the French Quarter.

And while float parades roll outside of the French Quarter, Bourbon Street serves as a "Mardi Gras headquarters" of sorts for tourists and locals to see the sights and party during Carnival.

Here's what Bourbon Street looked like on Mardi Gras weekend 2024.
